Evie Locklear​

PTA

Evie Locklear is a Native American from the Lumbee Tribe and currently resides in Lumberton NC.  She has always been interested in the human body and the mechanics that make it work, which prompted her to pursue a career in the field of Physical Therapy. Evie has a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke which she used as a pathway to become a middle school science teacher.  The field of education brought her great experiences for 10 years before diving into the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Fayetteville Technical Community College. At FTCC Evie graduated with Highest Honors and received recognition from her instructors for 4.0 GPA throughout the program. Evie has gained clinical experience in outpatient as well acute inpatient settings at both Scotland Memorial and Cape Fear Valley Hospital.
In her spare time she loves to travel and spend time with her daughter who is involved in AAU Basketball.  Evie has volunteered as a coach for several of the recreational sports in her community including: volleyball, basketball, and softball.  She also enjoys singing which she does as a choir member at her church.
