In our practice we work with dancers or musicians that may be having pain and problems during performances or practice. We work with individuals who may have sustained an injury in performance. Treatments are tailored to individual needs with respect to the demands performance places on their body and mind.
If a performer is injured during a performance we schedule care around live performances to provide the intervention needed.
Care provided may be modalities such as heat, cold or electric stimulation or manual therapy to decrease pain. Taping, dry needling or mobilization may be appropriate for performers with chronic, emerging or long term problems. We will address functional problems such as posture, core strengthening and pain education.
Performance medicine requires the development of individualized treatment plans. If we find an issue that is concerning to us, we will refer our performers to the appropriate provider.
